The story of a little boy’s first year
This Storybook album is the culmination of six photo shoots which tell the story of Henry’s first year. It was designed to include short captions written by mum and all the little details of the styling she put together for the photo shoots. The photo shoots included are: maternity photos, baby shower photos, newborn photos, 3 months family photos, 6 months summer family photos and 1st birthday party photos. We included images in colour and black and white to accentuate the timelessness of the images, and used a variety of different page layouts to make the most of mum & dad’s favourite images. The final album is 25 x 25 cm (10 inches) with 34 pages.
Linen album cover
The perfect baby blue linen cover, delicately engraved with words from his parents.
Maternity photos at 25 weeks
A simple, elegant layout mirrors the styling (by mum Stéphanie) and the photos. Short captions help tell the story without intruding.
Details & portraits
Combining details and portraits allows us to include as many of the couple’s favourite images as possible.
Waiting for Henry
A change of outfits gives the maternity photo shoot another layer, with an emphasis on the excitement and expectation of new parents.
Stéphanie’s friends wanted to through a baby shower and she wanted to help plan and create all the details. We added a session that focused mainly on the details but also capture some of the fun of the party.
Newborn photo shoot
Born just in time for Christmas, we captured Henry at his tiniest as well as all the details of his nursery.
Quite often I will shoot newborn portraits while your baby sleeps in your arms or on your bed. For something more styled we can set up a beanbag or feeding cushion. In this case, we wanted to include an element of Christmas.
3 month baby shoot
Mum wasn’t feeling up to photos at 10 days and dad wasn’t available, so we included a 3 month shoot to capture the family while Henry was still a baby. Here a couple of pages devoted to dad and son.
What's going on?
With such inquisitive eyes, Henry did really well at his three month shoot. This period can be more challenging depending on how your baby feels on the day. We were lucky that he was having a really happy day!
A summer picnic
For Henry’s 6-month shoot, we arranged a family picnic in the sun. Here the album spread shows how much he wanted to be able to walk around through a sequence of black and white images.
By arranging shoots at key moments in your baby’s first year, we can capture the little developmental highlights. At 6-months Henry was just starting to sit unaided and his curiosity about the world was wonderful to document.
