Vilde and Matthieu contacted me from Norway for their summer wedding at the Grand Hôtel du Lac. Matt is originally from Fribourg and they had decided to set their wedding in one of my favourite towns along Lac Léman, Vevey.
Even when a wedding is not booked months in advance or if, like Vilde and Matt, the couple are having a destination wedding, I like to try to meet up with them beforehand and shoot a few photos together. Every couple whose wedding I have had the pleasure of documenting has told me how their pre-wedding shoot helped them to feel much more relaxed on the day. It’s one of the reasons I include the session in my standard pricing: it’s not about the fabulous photos; it’s about having fun, trying poses and feeling comfortable with me and the camera.

For Vilde and Matthieu we took the opportunity to get some shots with their son, who would only be present briefly on the wedding day, and of the Fribourg mountain landscape with views over lac de La Gruyères from the golf club at Pont-la-Ville.

James and I were so taken with the view that we tried to get a table for dinner, but it’s obviously a popular spot! We ended up by Lac Léman with a Gourmet burger from the Montreux Jazz Festival instead!
