Mirador Kempinski Wedding | Silvia & Michel
With the wet Swiss summer we had lots of rain contingency plans for Silvia and Michel’s wedding up in Mont Pélerin, but the weather was kind and we were rewarded with a scorchingly hot day. The little chapel, next to the Mirador Kempinski, was the perfect venue for a quiet and picturesque ceremony. While the apéro at the Kempinski Lac Léman afforded spectacular views over the lake and mountains. I met up with Silvia and her parents at the Grand Hôtel du Lac Vevey for some pre-wedding portraits. Not all brides want to be photographed while they are getting ready - although it’s one of my favourite parts of the day! - but pre-wedding bridal portraits and some shots with mum and dad are a good way to calm the wedding jitters and the GHDL had some perfect light for us to capture Silvia’s radiance.
While Silvia made her finishing touches, I set off up to meet with Michel and his mother before the ceremony at the Chapelle St Joseph du Mont Pèlerin. The couple had chosen their mothers to be their witnesses and I thought it was a lovely personal touch for a couple who were evidently very close to their whole family. After the main part of the ceremony, I stepped out to allow the couple and their family to celebrate the mass together without any distractions and was perfectly poised for some enthusiastic confetti throwing at their exit.
After taking advantage of the cool shade by the chapel for family photos we walked across to the Mirador Kempinski for celebratory wedding drinks and couple shots. We were able to find some stunning views as well as some greenery for lots of variety in their first wedding portraits together.
Dinner was back at the Grand Salle Viennese at the GHDL with one of their spectacular wedding cakes and exquisite flowers and decorations. The highlight of the evening was Silvia and Michel’s special choreographed first dance, just one of many touches that made their day so personal.
Silvia and Michel, thank you for choosing me to document your wedding day, it was so much fun.
