Last minute wedding

When Poé contacted me about her wedding photography I was just starting to wind down for the season. I take a limited number of weddings per year so that I can be sure to give my best to my clients. A busy June and July had left me feeling cream crackered and I wasn’t sure about taking on more work in September, but there was something about Poé and Uliamu. Originally from Tahiti and Futuna, they had found themselves together and very much in love. All the formalities of the wedding had taken place a year ago but they still had the most important thing to do: to promise to love each other in front of God.

Ouchy pre-wedding session

We met up in Ouchy just a few days before the wedding to chat details, timeline and to shoot their very important pre-wedding session. I’ve said many times before how crucial it is for me that my couples find a moment to do even a short pre-wedding session. There are so many other things happening on the wedding day that it is hard to remain calm and unstressed. Your pre-wedding shoot helps you relax and know that I am capturing all the moments and emotion as they happen.

Fighting the weather – which gives me skies and atmosphere that I just love by the lake! – we talked about the best light, about how to pose to feel comfortable and natural, and how to just relax and enjoy the moment.

Poé and Uliamu were so natural together, they made my job easy and I left feeling super excited about their wedding and about a career that lets me meet such wonderful people.

Poé and Uliamu opted for a really laid-back engagement shoot. Taking some time out of planning to just enjoy each other’s company and the stunning scenery of Lausanne. We only spent about an hour together because of their busy schedule but it was enough to help them feel comfortable in front of the camera and one less worry for their wedding day in Geneva.
