Master your camera
Have you ever watched a scene and wished you could capture more than just a snapshot of what was going, wished you could capture the emotion and feel of that moment, that landscape, that person?
It’s easy in the digital age to pick up a camera or a phone and get a decently exposed picture that records the scene but it can be unfulfilling. To truly master your camera - be it a phone, a point-and-shoot, mirrorless or DSLR - you need to know how it works, what it assumes and how to control what it does. I believe that anyone can learn to take brilliant photographs and that is why my photography courses are personalised to you.
From basics to advanced
Whether you are interested in portrait photography, landscapes, nature, travel or something more abstract. My personalised approach to photography courses is designed to help you get the most out of your camera. We always start with the basics, moving through how the camera works to how to compose and process an image (digital or analogue) to reproduce the image you had in your mind’s eye. My personal photographic style focuses on emotions, memory and the experience of life. So I aim to push you to see beyond the ‘pretty picture’ and find a reason for pressing the shutter. Just the process of this will make you a better photographer.
Individual or group courses
I tailor my course around you. You can choose to have one-on-one lessons, lessons with a friend or partner, or full family lessons! To begin with we will start at our chalet in Gryon, which has a woodland, garden and stunning view as well as lots of great areas to explore different kinds of light. There is also the option to explore the local area with a photographic hike, adapted to your abilities.
If you are working on a project and want advice on technique or style, then we can spend some time looking through your portfolio and exploring new ways of looking at a body of work.
I also offer more intensive lightroom processing courses, designed to help you master Adobe Lightroom and prepare you photographs for online and print.
