Kelly and Stu had been planning a proper honeymoon for years and one thing that Kelly knew for sure was that she wanted to include a professional couple’s portrait session. It wasn’t that their wedding photos were bad, just rushed, and she could feel the tension every time she looked at them. So here they finally were, on the shores of Lake Geneva in the sunshine, ready for their supercar honeymoon photography shoot, complete with a stunning Aston Martin V8 Vantage from Ultimate Drives. For the relaxed, natural portraits that Kelly wanted, we decided to have some fun with the car and recreate some of their travelling moments. In full driving chic, fitting for our third star of the shoot, we headed out into the morning sunshine for some magazine-style supercar shots.
Once the car was safely back in the garage of the Grand Hôtel du Lac, we paused for a coffee and some individual portraits before exploring the fabulous old hotel and then the old port of Vevey. I just loved Kelly’s Tatler-esque style and Stu’s laid-back cool. They were wonderful to work with, and really clear about what kind of thing would portray their high-flying personalities the best.
In the end it was only the blinding midday sun that brought an end to their honeymoon shoot and I left them to an afternoon of Aston Martin supercar goodness and a romantic tour of the Lavaux vineyards. What a fabulous way to celebrate a belated honeymoon.
