Recording your baby’s first days

Life is such a rush in the first weeks of your newborn’s life that creating a visual record can be difficult to do on your own. It is one of the reason that so many people choose to book a newborn photography session. As well as letting a professional take care of these special moments, you can also relax for a morning and just enjoy exploring life as a new family.

Becoming a parent

One of the things I loved about this newborn photography session in Lausanne was how we managed to capture some of what it feels like to be a new parent. As well as some portraits of cute little Winston, we focused on the relationship between mum, dad and son.

Newborn moments to capture in photos

It was so special to watch Winston being fed by his parents – Vanessa opting for the less intimate bottle feed for the photos. And to documents a wardrobe change as it happened; each parent naturally sharing the task. The joy with which Paolo read to his son and insisted on including some of the awesome teddy bears he’d just bought.

Wrapping a newborn

With such a true lifestyle shoot, I was delighted when Vanessa agreed to wrap Winston ready for a nap at the end of our session. I think these memories will truly last and will complement their maternity and future ‘baby’s first year’ sessions perfectly.
